“And yet it's been a great life.” -- the most important thing. We live in a world built for comparisons, where the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. This continuous benchmarking and thirst for attention has ruined our civilization. Great thoughts, Tai. I really enjoyed this piece. :)

Thanks Silvio! Perhaps if more attention was placed on authenticity during our development, that would mitigate the situation. I wonder how much society needs "sheeple", so to speak? What would a society of fully expressed individuals look like? We can only imagine.

That sounds like a fun day! And to Maple Ridge and Pitts Meadows, may the ugly real estate money politics plaguing Vancouver and its nearby hoods never touch those communities!

Ha! It certainly exceeded my expectations. I imagine the real estate situation is not immune to these influences you speak of, unfortunately, though I am not that acquainted with the full scope of the market.

What an amazing day you had Tai! I love that you feel content and grateful with your life, it definitely sounds like a meaningful life, and also that you've done it "your way..."

Thanks Oscar! There's still work to be done and it's by no means over, but yes, some measure of self-acceptance is liberating particularly when one has chosen an unconventional life path. I commend you for carving your own path as well!

Cheers to a great life, Tai! Your epiphanies prompt me pause and appreciate all the goodness in life. And Elvis reminds me of my grandparents marriage and the joyful times at their home.
